The late Mavis Agbandje-McKenna, PhD, a professor in the UF College of Medicine department of biochemistry and molecular biology, spent 32 years advancing discovery. Now, her colleagues reflect on her impact as a scientist and as a mentor to the next generation.
Role: I led this project from planning to completion, conducting on-camera interviews, creating graphics, selecting music, advising on tone and choosing sound bites. This piece played at an event with over 500 attendees and coincided with the unveiling of an award in the subject’s memory.
As medical students from the class of 2019 prepare to graduate and move on to residency training, fourth-years Hanna Peterson, Altelisha Taylor and Michael McNeely reflect on their journeys at the UF College of Medicine and share their hopes for the future.
Role: I co-led this project from planning to completion, creating storyboards for each video, conducting pre- and on-camera interviews and choosing sound bites. These pieces coincided with my team's communications plan for graduation season. These videos were viewed more than 25,000 times across various social media channels.

Role: I co-led this project from planning to completion, creating storyboards, conducting pre- and on-camera interviews and choosing sound bites to create a script. This video was viewed at the closing celebration of Alumni Weekend. Plans are in the works to use this piece as the anthem video for the college in future communications.
When 1960 UF College of Medicine graduate Dr. Jean Bennett joined the Legacy Challenge scholarship initiative, little did she know she'd create a lasting bond with a future Gator physician. Thanks to Dr. Bennett's scholarship, UF medical student Jane Harrell not only receives financial support but has also found a lifelong mentor.
Role: I co-led this project from planning to completion, creating a storyboard for the concept, conducting all pre-interviews and on-camera interviews and choosing sound bites. This piece coincided with my team's communications plan for a scholarship initiative at the UF College of Medicine. It led to an article in the student newspaper and was shown during the annual conference of the Association of American Medical Colleges' Group on Institutional Advancement.
UF medical students bring a piece of the African jungle to campus through a performance of "The Lion King" for pediatric patients at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital.
Role: I coordinated interviews with students and collaborated with our staff photographer to choose photos and sound bites. This multimedia piece coincided with my print story in the UF College of Medicine's alumni publication, Florida Physician.
